Mac problems with keyboard input

Hi,

I am remote accessing Mac OSX 10.5. I am having problems inputting uppercase letters. Nothing using SHIFT key works properly. Everything I type with the SHIFT KEY pressed is in lowercase. I saw that another user had a similar problem. One of the recommended solutions was to log out and reboot. I tried that but it did not work for me. How do I solve this issue?

Cheers,

Vinodh

Re: Mac problems with keyboard input

Hi there!

There are occasions when the modifier keys (shift, alt, ctrl) get stuck in Mac OS 10.5 because those keys are pressed and depressed too quickly, causing the VNC server running on those macs to not be able to detect the depressing of the key. This fault has been traced to the VNC server itself and we're hoping that the developers of that server will be able to produce a fix soon. In the meantime, here are a couple of suggestions:

1) When using those keys, just don't press and depress those keys too quickly.

2) In the event you find that those keys are "stuck" simply press and depress those keys by themselves and it should be "unstuck"

Out of curiousity, what VNC Viewer are you using?

I am using the in-built VNC Viewer.
